Recently, an image claiming to show a large number of Bangladeshi tanks advancing towards the Indian border has been widely circulated on the internet.

A fact-check by the Rumor Scanner team reveals that the image does not depict tanks advancing near the Indian border. Instead, it is an old photo from a military parade being shared with false claims.
Upon investigation, a report published on the website of the Bangladeshi national daily Prothom Alo in 2018, titled “Bangladesh Ranks 57th Among Powerful Military Forces”, was found. The photo used in that report matches the one currently being circulated with misleading claims.
The caption of the image in the original report identifies it as a scene from a military parade, not an operation near the Indian border. Furthermore, no credible information supporting the claim of Bangladeshi tanks advancing toward the Indian border has been reported in either domestic or international media.
Therefore, it is clear that the old photo from a military parade has been misrepresented to spread misleading information about Bangladeshi tanks advancing toward the Indian border.
