Claim:
A recently circulated video on TikTok claims that on November 26, 2024, the public organized a "shoe and broom procession" demanding Dr. Muhammad Yunus's and other advisors' resignation. The video quickly gained traction on social media platforms.

Fact-Check:
Upon reviewing the video, it was observed that the participants carrying brooms in the procession also held a banner featuring the name and photograph of Salman F. Rahman, a former Member of Parliament and ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s advisor on private industry and investment.

Following this lead, a keyword search led to the original video posted on Desh TV's official Facebook page on November 25. According to the news report, the event took place in Nawabganj, Dhaka, where agitated locals held a broom procession demanding exemplary punishment for Salman F. Rahman.

The unrest was linked to a legal matter in which Rahman was taken into police custody for four days as part of an explosives case investigation. On November 25, he was presented in Dhaka court under strict security. News of his remand and court appearance spread, prompting small groups of protesters to gather at Nawabganj Central Shaheed Minar around 11 a.m. The protest intensified, culminating in the broom procession.
Reports from multiple mainstream media outlets corroborate these details. The protest on November 25 in Nawabganj was specifically against Salman F. Rahman, demanding capital punishment. However, the video was falsely circulated online as a demonstration against the interim government, which is untrue.

The viral video was misrepresented to suggest a protest against the interim government. In reality, it depicted a local protest in Nawabganj targeting Salman F. Rahman. This claim is false.
