On November 29, renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam performed at a concert held at Dhaka’s Army Stadium. Following the event, various discussions and controversies have surfaced. Recently, a video titled "A Young Woman Hugs Atif Aslam on Stage at Dhaka’s Army Stadium" began circulating on Facebook. It was claimed that the video was from the November 29 concert.
Fact-Check
An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team has confirmed that the incident in question is not from November 29. Instead, the video originates from an earlier concert held on April 19 at Dhaka’s Bashundhara Sports Complex. The footage is being misrepresented as recent.
Keyframes from the circulating video were reverse-searched, leading to a Facebook post by a user named Sanvi Ahamed Maruf, dated April 20. The post, captioned "Atif Aslam came to Bangladesh. Then the Bangladeshi girl approached him," contained a video that matched the viral clip exactly.
Further investigation revealed that the April concert was organized by Blues Communication and took place over two days, April 18 and 19, at the cricket ground of Bashundhara Sports Complex. Atif Aslam performed on April 19, during which the incident with the young woman occurred.
The viral video showing a female fan hugging Atif Aslam is from the April 19 concert at Bashundhara Sports Complex, not the November 29 event at Dhaka’s Army Stadium. Sharing the video with a misleading claim is incorrect and spreads confusion.
