A video titled “We Need a Military Government Now” has recently been circulated online, claiming to show footage from a protest march held on March 21. However, fact-checking by the Rumor Scanner Team reveals that the video in question is not from a recent event. In fact, the video has been available on the internet since August 2024. No evidence could be found of any such protest taking place in front of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh in recent times. Upon investigation, key frames of the video were reverse image searched, leading to a YouTube channel named 'Kazi Mazidul', where a video titled “We Need a Military Government Now, the Most Popular Slogan on the Streets on 05-08-2024” was uploaded on August 28, 2024. Although the upload date is August 28, the description states the footage was taken on August 5, 2024. At the beginning of the video, the new building of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) headquarters can be seen on the opposite side of the road. Further investigation using relevant keywords yielded no credible news or sources confirming any protest in front of CAAB in recent times. While the exact timing of the video remains unverified, it is certain that the footage is not recent. Therefore, circulating an old video from 2024 while claiming it documents a protest from March 21 under the slogan “We Need a Military Government Now” is misleading.
