As they exited JFK Airport in New York, they were harassed by supporters of the Awami League.

Following the incident, a photo of a man identified as “Borhan Uddin from Kachua Upazila, Chandpur” was circulated on social media, claiming him to be one of the harassers.

The actual individual is RS Shuvo, also known as Md. Bayezid, a resident of Kachua Upazila in Chandpur, currently residing in the United States. In contrast, Borhan Uddin is a resident of Char Fasson Upazila in Bhola and remains in Bangladesh.

In the circulated posts, screenshots were found from a Facebook account named "Borhan Uddin" showing a post dated September 10. Further investigation led to the original post on that same date from that account, which exactly matches the disputed content.

He also posted a video message with the same information from his Facebook account.

Therefore, the individual responsible for the harassment and Borhan Uddin are not the same person.

Subsequently, the Rumor Scanner team investigated the identity of the person involved in the harassment. They found a video shared by a Facebook page named “Voice of Shovo USA – Shuvo America,” which shows a protest at the airport after Akhtar Hossain and Tasnim Zara arrived. The person seen in the video matches the previously discussed individual in both appearance and clothing.
