A video claiming to show former Bangladeshi Prime Minister and Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina’s presence in India has recently gone viral on social media. The video, allegedly captured in front of Hyderabad House, a state guesthouse in New Delhi, is being circulated with the claim that Sheikh Hasina has been staying in India since her removal from power on August 5. Various sources have suggested that she has been residing in India, fueling speculation. 
The viral video shows a black car parked in front of a building, with a blurry silhouette of a woman visible in the front passenger seat. Fact-checking investigations by the Rumor Scanner team confirm that this video does not depict Sheikh Hasina’s recent presence in front of Hyderabad House. Instead, the footage is from 2017 and features Maryam Nawaz, a leader of Pakistan’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).  
Further analysis traces the same video to a post on April 12, 2023, from the official account of Pakistan’s news outlet, BOL Network, on X (formerly Twitter). According to the caption of that post, the video shows Maryam Nawaz leaving her residence in a BMW to perform Umrah. Upon closer inspection of the viral video, the car's license plate reads “LE 4114.” According to Pakistan’s vehicle registration system, license plates starting with “LE” indicate registration in Lahore. 
Additionally, a reverse image search led to a stock photo uploaded on October 13, 2017, on Getty Images. This image features the same car with the identical license plate. The photo description confirms that the vehicle was used by Maryam Nawaz while attending a court hearing in a corruption case in 2017.  
Therefore, the claim that the video shows Sheikh Hasina recently in front of Hyderabad House is entirely false. An old video from Pakistan has been misrepresented to spread misinformation.
