The footage actually depicts a large-scale eviction operation in Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat, in January of this year, during which over a hundred structures were demolished under the label of being "illegal."

To verify the claim, a reverse image search led to a report by BBC News Gujarati, which featured the viral video. The BBC published the report on January 19, stating that by January 18, a total of 525 "illegal" structures had been demolished in Bet Dwarka, Dwarka city, and Okha during the eviction drive. Among these, Bet Dwarka alone accounted for over 300 demolished structures, including six religious sites and three commercial establishments.

The video is also available on BBC News Gujarati’s YouTube channel, where it was uploaded on January 18. The caption states that during the seven-day eviction drive in Bet Dwarka, more than 350 houses were demolished, leaving approximately 1,000 families homeless. According to the administration, these structures were built "illegally" on government land. At the time, multiple Indian news outlets reported on the incident, consistently describing it as an eviction of "illegal structures."

Based on this information, it is confirmed that the claim that Muslim homes were demolished in India during Ramadan as punishment for selling beef is false. FactWatch, therefore, identifies this claim as misinformation.
