A video is circulating on Facebook in the context of recent India-Pakistan tensions. It shows people running for cover in a building compound amid aerial bombardment. The claim being made is that the footage depicts an Indian missile strike on Pakistan, allegedly under “Operation Sindur.” However, a FactWatch investigation confirms that the video has no connection to Operation Sindur. It is, in fact, footage of an Israeli airstrike on a hospital compound in northern Gaza in 2023.

FactWatch's investigation found the video on the YouTube channel of Turkish news outlet TRT World through reverse image search. The video was published on November 10, 2023, and its description indicates that the footage is from an Israeli attack on the Indonesian Hospital compound in Gaza on November 9, 2023.

Further verification revealed that the same video appeared in a live report broadcast by Al Jazeera on November 9, 2023. According to the report, numerous people were injured in an Israeli airstrike on the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza.

Additionally, the same video was posted on the Instagram account of the Qatari news agency Middle East Monitor on November 9, 2023.

Clearly, the footage from a two-year-old Israeli airstrike in Gaza is being falsely shared as a recent video of an India-Pakistan conflict. Therefore, FactWatch has labeled such posts as “false.”
